Julie Palais or Julu is an American author, animal welfare activist, and student of animal law. She has published her book ‘Sathi’ The Street Dog from Kathmandu Nepal both in Nepali and English language based on the real story of a street dog in Nepal. She has also published her book, ‘Saathi’ The Street Dog from Dharamsala, India in Hindi and English.

This special Tibetan edition of Drokmo: The Street Dog from Dharamsala, India, commemorates the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
As we mark this special anniversary with a "Year of Compassion", it seemed most fitting to honor His Holiness with a book whose core message aligns so closely with his own; compassion for all living beings, without exception.
